About the Umbrella

Established following the Queen's Diamond Jubilee, the Carleton Community Umbrella exists to support community groups and activities in the village of Carleton in Craven, North Yorkshire.

We aim to give financial and practical help to anyone or any organisation providing community activities or services to the residents of our village.

A sustainable and vibrant community spirit, with well-maintained facilities and events that bring people together is the best way of leaving a lasting legacy for our children and our children's children.

To do this we organise a series of year round events. These include:

The Duck Race

The Gala & Sports Weekend

Bonfire & Fireworks

Yuletide on Swan Street

Big Breakfasts on most Bank Holidays

We are committed to helping organisations that run and maintain our community's recreational spaces with direct financial help so that as far as possible these facilities can be provided to all residents free of charge.
